The university union has formed two courts to determine the punishment of three Dhaka University (DU) professors, including Samia Rahman, as the study proved the theft.

A regular meeting of the university union on Thursday decided to form a tribunal against the three professors.

Among the three professors, Samia Rahman, associate professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University, and Syed Mahfuzul Haque Marjan, professor in the Department of Criminology, have been accused of plagiarism in 80 scholarly research articles. by 60-80 percent. A tribunal has been established against Muhammad Omar Farooq’s doctoral thesis after the forgery allegations were proven.

In this regard, Provisi (Education) ASM Maqsood Kamal said that it has been decided to form a three-member tribunal headed by Professor Rahmatullah to decide what actions will be taken against Samia Rahman and Syed Mahfuzul Haque Marjan, as their forgery has been proven.
