The highest union of the Dhaka University policy making forum has decided to reduce the development rate of all students by 50 percent in the current academic year (2019-20) considering the economic condition of students due to coronavirus infection. In addition, the union has formed two courts to determine the penalty for theft in the investigation of three teachers.
The decision was made at a regular union meeting on Thursday afternoon. The two union members present at the meeting confirmed the matter at first glance.
Speaking to two union members, it emerged that a joint study by Samia Rahman, Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, and Syed Mahfuzul Haque Marjan, Professor in the Department of Criminology, had decided to form a tribunal at their previous meeting of the union to determine the punishment for theft; But who will be in court, it was not decided that day of today’s union meeting, the acting dean of the law school and union member Prof. A three-member court has been formed with Rahmat Ullah as chairman. The court will also have a representative of the University Senate and a representative of the accused (Samia-Marjan). Soon the names of the two members of the vice-rector.
