Juno, 8, was admitted to Square Hospital in Dhaka on the night of September 15 after suffering a heart attack due to pneumonia. Later, when his physical condition deteriorated, he was transferred to life support on September 24.

Later, on October 22, she was taken from Square Hospital to the City Public Health Hospital, Ananya Laboni said.

Juno, younger brother of communist leader Haider Akbar Khan Rano, was born on December 29, 1944 in Calcutta. Their ancestral home is in the village of Narail, in Barashula. Father Hatem Ali Khan was an engineer. Renowned politician Syed Nowsher Ali is his grandfather.

Juno knew communist politics in school life. Although he did his Masters in Physics from Dhaka University, he took politics as his profession.

Juno joined the educational movement in 1962 during the Pakistan period and was imprisoned. He was then an active member of the East Pakistan Student Union. His brother Rano was then president of the student union. Juno was subsequently elected to the central committee of the student union.

Juno was involved in the communist movement in the 1960s and was in the pro-China camp. When the Biplobi Chhatra Union was formed in 1970, he became its president.

After independence, Juno was elected to the Central Committee of the Leninist Communist Party. In 1984, he became secretary of cultural affairs for the United People’s Party (UPP). When the Workers’ Party was formed in 1969, he became a member of the party’s central committee.

Juno trained as a guerrilla in the 1971 liberation war. Juno, a physics student, was making bombs. He was also in the resistance war at Shibpur in Narsingdi with the late Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan.

In addition to her political activities, Juno has also played a role in building a progressive people-oriented cultural movement. He was the president of the mass culture front. He has also served as Secretary General of the Bangladesh-Cuba Solidarity Committee.
