Grandfather Montaz Ali found his granddaughter alone that night and raped her. When the mother returned later, the girl informed her.
The mother of the raped girl filed a lawsuit against her father-in-law Montaz Ali at the police station around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Local police from the Begumpur outpost arrested Montaz Ali at midnight Wednesday after the case.
Investigating Officer Darshana Thana, a police inspector, Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman, said that during police questioning, the defendant Montaz confessed to the incident. The raped girl will undergo a medical examination on Thursday.
