Two insurers’ earnings have increased, one has decreased

In the third quarter of this year, the profits of the two listed insurers increased from the previous year. On the contrary, the profit of an insurance company has decreased.

The two most profitable companies are Northern Islami and Karnafuli Insurance. On the other hand, Standard Insurance’s profit has decreased.

This information was obtained by reviewing the financial reports published after the board meeting of the three companies held on Tuesday (October 26).

Islamic Northern Insurance

In the July-September quarter of this year, earnings per share was 61 paise. At the same time, last year, earnings per share was 44 paise. As a result, earnings per share have increased by 17 countries compared to last year.

Although profit increased in the third quarter, the company’s profit for the 9 months (January-September) decreased compared to the previous year. During January-September of this year, the company’s earnings per share have been 1 42 paise. That was 1 taka 46 paise at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the value of the company’s assets per share has increased compared to the previous year. At the end of September this year, the asset price per share was 20 rupees 91 paise, which was 19 rupees 24 paise at the end of September 2019.

According to the operating cash flow data, the operating cash flow per share during January-September of this year was Tk 8.98 paise, which was Tk 41 paise during January-September 2019.

Karnafuli insurance

In the July-September quarter of this year, the earnings per share was 25 paise. At the same time, last year, the earnings per share was 22 paise. As a result, earnings per share has increased by 3 paise compared to last year.

In the third quarter, the company’s profit increased over the previous year in 9 months (January-September). During January-September of this year, the company’s earnings per share were 69 paise. That was 72 paise at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the value of the company’s assets per share has increased compared to the previous year. At the end of September this year, the asset price per share was 16 rupees 11 paise, which was 18 rupees 93 paise at the end of September 2019.

According to the data from the operating cash floor, the operating cash flow per share during January-September of this year was Tk 3.18 paise, which was 32 paise during January-September 2019.

Standard insurance

In the July-September quarter of this year, the earnings per share was 7 paise. At the same time, last year, earnings per share was 72 paise. As a result, earnings per share has increased 4 paise compared to last year.

The company’s profits fell in the third quarter to 9 months (January-September) compared to the previous year. During January-September of this year, the company’s earnings per share have been 1 75 paise. That was 1 taka 96 paise at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the value of the company’s assets per share has increased compared to the previous year. At the end of September this year, the asset price per share stood at Tk 18.6 paise, which was Tk 16.2 paise at the end of September 2019.

According to the operating cash flow data, the operating cash flow per share during January-September of this year was Tk 2.95 paise, which was Tk 1.33 paise in January-September 2019.
