Lieutenant General (Retired) Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi has filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife for allegedly sending defamatory messages on his mobile phone. Dhaka Cyber Court judge Mohammad Assam Jaglul Hossain ordered the Investigation Bureau (PBI) to investigate the case on Wednesday.
The court has ordered to present the investigation report of the case on December 6. Shamim Al Mamun, a bench clerk for the court, confirmed this information at first glance.
In the RG of the case, Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi mentioned that he was not satisfied with the behavior of his first wife. They were later separated. He later married television host Farzana Brownia. Since the marriage, the ex-wife has attempted to inflict physical harm, including defamation. The ex-wife sent a text message to her cell phone on October 6. There he wrote defamatory information and threatened her.
Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi’s attorney, HM Masum, told Prothom Alo that a case has been filed under the Digital Security Act. The court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and ordered PBI to investigate the case.
Host and organizer Farzana Brownia and Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi were married on November 16, 2016. After the collapse of Rana Plaza, Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardi came into the discussion as the GOC of the Ninth Infantry Division, leading the rescue operation. He retired on June 1, 2016.
