Attending a ceremony to pay tribute to French teacher Samuel Patti, who was assassinated last Wednesday, Macron said it was clear to him that the cartoons of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will not stop. Since then, Muslims in France have accused Macro of trying to suppress their religion and legitimize Islamophobia.

Several Arab countries, including Turkey and Pakistan, have condemned Macro’s controversial comments. Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the French president needed mental health treatment.

Turkish state media Anadolu reported that on Tuesday, more than 10,000 protesters in Bangladesh marched to the French embassy in Dhaka to make strong comments about the reserved registration. At that time everyone was called upon to boycott French products.

Bangladesh is a large market for French perfumes and cosmetics. Earlier, speakers in Dhaka on Sunday asked the French president to apologize for his comments.

Khalilur Rahman Madani, joint coordinator of the Islamist party, told Anadolu Agency that France is one of the main European countries. The country knows very well that Prophet Muhammad is the greatest leader of the Muslim world. He says the movement to peacefully boycott French goods has gained momentum.

The protesters have called on the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry to remove the French ambassador from Dhaka.
