Reports of rape have been found in Agailjhara in Barisal. Seeing this incident, four young men picked up their girlfriend and tried to rape her. The incident took place in the village of Jobarpar in Bagdha, a union of the Upazila on Saturday. The college student filed a case at the Agailjhara police station on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the victim has been sent to the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for a medical examination. Police said an operation is underway to arrest the defendants.
According to local and case sources, the university student had a love affair with Nayan Mandal, son of Asim Mandal from the village of Bakal in upazila. On Ashtami Puja night, Nayan goes out with his girlfriend. Later, her boyfriend took her to a place called Jobarpar brick kiln and raped her. At that moment, four young men named Emu Fakir, Sujan Pike, Sumon Baghol and Parvez Mia from Bakal village saw the incident. They picked up the university student and her boyfriend and detained them at a school in Bakalhat, about three kilometers away. The young men tried to rape the detained university student.
The college student filed a case against Nayan Mandal at the Agailjhara Police Station on Tuesday morning alleging rape and attempted rape against other youths.
Investigating officer SI Taibur Rahman said the raped student had filed a case at the Agailjhara police station. An operation is underway to arrest the accused.
