Weapons and ammunition were recovered from Saddam Hussein, 29, head of Saddam’s forces in the Gopalpur union of Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. A pipe gun and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from a house in Kotra Mohabbatpur village, which Saddam had shown him around 3:15 p.m.

Earlier, a police team raided the Gopalpur area around 9:30 pm and arrested Saddam Hussein, police said. The Begumganj police have five arrest warrants for Saddam, including murder, rape, kidnapping and weapons. In addition, another weapons case related to the recovery of new weapons was recorded on Tuesday.

Earlier, on October 17, Prothom Alo published a story titled ’21 terrorist forces in one upazila ‘about the terrorist forces in different areas of Begumganj upazila. Later that night, the Begumganj police launched an operation to arrest the terrorists. In the first day’s operation, seven people, including members of the terrorist Sumon Bahini and the Kishore Gang, were arrested.
