The verdict in the case of 14 minors charged in the highly disputed Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna was announced on Tuesday (October 28).

“I believe that only those involved in the murder of my son will be punished and the innocent will be acquitted,” he said.
Rifat’s only sister, Israt Jahan Mau, said: “I hope that the brother’s other killers receive exemplary punishment, like the six accused adults.”
He also said, I will never get my brother back. But if his murderers are properly punished, we will get some comfort.
After hearing the arguments of the two parties in the case on October 14, Judge of the Barguna Juvenile Court. Hafizur Rahman set the date for tomorrow’s verdict.
Rifat was shot and killed outside Barguna Government College on June 26 last year. On September 1 of that year, the police filed a report in court dividing the defendants into two groups, adults and minors. Of them, 10 adults and 14 minors were charged.
On January 8, the Barguna Juvenile Court brought charges against 14 minors charged in the Rifat murder case. The court then began taking testimony against 14 accused minors as of January 13. A total of 84 witnesses have testified in the case.
