Two locals from Bara Katra in Chawkbazar said that, on condition of anonymity, ‘Irfan Selim, the son of Haji Selim, used to drink alcohol at night. He used to roam the streets at night with two foreign dogs bought for three lakh rupees. The bodyguards were with him at the time. No one dared to say anything after seeing the drunk councilman on the street.

They also said that Irfan studied abroad. Their culture was alien to foreigners. That’s why he used to stay drunk at night. He used to roam the streets with foreign dogs under the influence of alcohol.

On Sunday night (October 25) in Dhanmondi, MP Haji Selim’s car was hit by a naval officer, Lieutenant Wasim’s motorcycle, and he was brutally beaten by some people in the car. Wasim, a naval officer, was injured in the beating.

Following the case, RAB identified the whereabouts of Irfan Selim, the son of Haji Mohammad Selim, at his home at around 12:30 pm on Monday. Later, RAB Irfan and his bodyguard said. He was able to arrest Zahid.
