In Comilla, a drug-addicted father has been accused of sexually abusing his two daughters. The wife has filed a case at the police station. Police arrested drug addict Abubakar Siddique, 50, on Monday.
The incident took place in the Gopalnagar village in Debidwar upazila district. Citing the allegations, police said, the village’s masonry contractor. Abu Bakkar Siddique (48) is addicted to drugs.
For almost a year, he had been beating his wife Hasina Begum and trying to abuse their two daughters. If someone tried to stop him, he would hit them.
Hasina Begum, wife of plaintiff Abu Bakkar, said her husband used to return home drunk. He threatened to kick us out of the house if we protest against his drunkenness.
“Around 2 am on September 11, my husband got drunk and broke the door to my two daughters’ room and grabbed them and tried to abuse them. I went ahead and rescued them,” she said.
Debidwar police, ASI Ikram Hossain, said in the evening, on the basis of allegations of attempted sexual abuse of girls. Abu Bakkar Siddique was arrested and taken to the police station. He is being interrogated. It could be turned over to court on Tuesday.
