Case against the son of Haji Selim

A case has been brought against Mohammad Erfan Selim, son of Haji Selim, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) District 30 Councilor and Dhaka-6 Constituency Deputy, for allegedly hitting and threatening to kill a naval officer.

The officer in charge of the Dhanmondi Police Station, Ikram Ali Mia, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said the case was admitted this morning.

A naval officer has been beaten after exiting a government vehicle with the words “Member of Parliament” by Dhaka-6 MP Haji Mohammad Selim.

The incident took place on Sunday night (October 25) near the Dhanmondi Kalabagan landmark in the capital. Haji Selim’s son and his bodyguards abandoned the car after the incident and broke its license plate. Vehicle number – Dhaka Metro – D 11-5636.

Witnesses and police said the victim was the son of Haji Selim and his bodyguard. However, the police could not confirm which of Haji Selim’s three sons caused the incident.

In this incident, a general diary (GD) was made at the Dhanmondi police station at night. Wasif Ahmed Khan is a lieutenant in the navy.

A video of the incident has been released on social media. Wasim Ahmed was seen bleeding. The video claims that he was beaten and had his teeth broken, but the GD did not mention this.

In GD, Wasif Ahmed mentioned that he and his wife were riding motorcycles. MP Haji Selim’s car collided with his motorcycle. Wasim got off the motorcycle on the side of the road and stood in front of the car. When he tried to talk to them, Zahid and Abu Bakkar Siddique and two or three other people in the car insulted him with obscene language. They threatened to kill him and his wife.

Dhanmondi Police Station (ASI) Assistant Deputy Inspector Abdullah Zahid told Jago News that MP Haji Selim’s jeep collided with a naval officer’s motorcycle and a fight broke out. A naval officer was injured. The motorcycle and the car were seized and taken to the Dhanmondi Police Station.
