Subarnapur village in Kolkata, India. On November 2, 1935 it saw the light for the first time in that town. Then he slowly migrated to childhood, adolescence. University life also grew in the light and air of Calcutta. He then moved to Billet (UK) to practice law. He obtained the title with distinction, but India lost the famous man who grew up as a child. He left India and moved to eastern Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1962 with Pakistani citizenship. That boy from Subarnapur village in Calcutta is none other than Barrister Rafiq-ul Haq; Whom the people of Bangladesh know as a humanitarian lawyer.

He was a unique social worker. He had a unique contribution in establishing more than 25 hospitals, orphanages, mosques and medical schools, including Bardem, Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital, Dhaka Children’s Hospital, 100-bed Subarna Hospital in Gazipur. Wherever he has had the opportunity, he has extended his hand in the service of humanity. No organization remembers the man who has spent billions of rupees throughout his life.

Lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq never left his homeland, but he never forgot it. That is why he has painted another ‘Subarnapur’ in the heart of Bangladesh. He named various institutions and houses established in Bangladesh with his money after his village. Not only that, he did not name any of the establishments that have been built in different parts of the country with his earned money. He did not leave any property in his name at the time of his death. Everything has been donated to various organizations except the house in Paltan in Dhaka and Kaliakair in Gazipur. Those two houses are named after his wife.

It is known that the land of the house where he lived in Paltan was bought by his wife Dra. On behalf of Farida Haque. He named this house ‘Subarna’. This initiative is to remember the land itself. Evidence of this can be seen in the name of the hospital established at Chandra in Gazipur. The hospital was called ‘Clínica Dorada’. The next time Dr.’s name Although the Farida Haque Memorial-Ibrahim General Hospital was built, the people of Gazipur still know it as a ‘golden clinic’.

The Nabinagar-Chandra highway was built in 198-198. Executive Engineer of the Department of Roads and Highways at that time. Salek Hossain was a close friend of lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq. Rafiq-ul Haq often came with Salek Hossain to see the road works. At that time Chandra was an abandoned city surrounded by forests. In 1968, his friend Salek Hossain chose approximately three acres of land for Rafiq-ul Haq in Chandra. The next time the wife said. The lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq bought the land in the name of Farida Haque. He later established a huge mosque, hospital, and garden house on the grounds for the benefit of the local people.

Dr. Farida Haque Memorial-Ibrahim General Hospital – In 1995, after naming his village, he established a ‘Golden Clinic’ in Chandra with the idea of providing easy and low-cost treatment to the people of Kaliakair. At first, child and maternal welfare treatment was provided here. Later, about 18 years ago, the company merged with Ibrahim Diabetic Hospital in Dhaka. The name is Dr. Farida Haque Memorial-Ibrahim General Hospital. The 100-bed hospital has all kinds of services that include emergency department, diabetics, exterior-interior services, operating room. On average, more than one hundred and a half patients seek outdoor services every day. The cost is 40 percent lower than at other hospitals.

Subarna Jame Mosque: In 1990, he established the ‘Subarna Jame Mosque’ somewhere on the grounds in Chandra to facilitate the prayers of locals and pedestrians. He built a market next to the mosque. Magnet, moazzin and maintenance costs are covered by market rental income. The mosque and the market collapsed three or four years ago when the road was widened. Later, the Ministry of Communications moved the mosque to a nearby government site.

The general secretary of the mosque, a resident of Kaliakair Chandra. Anwar Hossain said: Sir was the president of the mosque. In addition to the mosque, he built a garden house on his land next to the hospital. There are different types of fruit and forest trees in that garden house. When he was healthy, Sir used to go to Baganbari every Friday with famous lawyers and doctors in the country. Members of Sir’s family used to come too. Additionally, Sir Chandra was the lifetime donor to Father of the Nation College, Father of the Nation School, and Mahmudpur Madrasa. In addition to these organizations, he has donated a lot of money to many organizations in the area. Anwar Hossain further said that Sir loved the people of Kaliakair. Kaliakair thought of his own Subarnagram.

Bardem Hospital: An international standard laboratory has been established at Bardem in the name of his late wife. Rafiq-ul Haq personally assumed the cost of the laboratory. Professor AK Azad Khan, president of the Bangladesh Diabetic Association, said that the way in which lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq Danbir has given his wealth for the well-being of the people is truly noteworthy. He was president of the board of directors of Bardem Hospital. He was the senior vice president of the Diabetic Association. He also held senior positions on the boards of many organizations. But he never wanted to establish himself as a leader. Bardem Hospital has two wards named after his wife and mother-in-law. That he himself has established with money.

Dhaka Children’s Hospital: Lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq allocated land for the Dhaka Children’s Hospital as he had a close relationship with Bangabandhu. In 1984, land was allocated for a two hundred five hundred children’s hospital. Later, lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq befriended former President Ziaur Rahman. For this reason, Ziaur Rahman used to convince him to make many laws. But lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq never received any remuneration. According to the interview that Rafiq-ul-Haq gave him during his life, Zia once asked him to do something with Rs 50 lakh. That money was delivered by Rafiq-ul Haq to the Dhaka Children’s Hospital. Professor Dr. Today’s Dhaka Children’s Hospital was established at the initiative of Tofail Ahmed, Barrister Rafiq-ul Haq and a few others. But nowhere in this hospital are there any signs of Rafiq-ul Haq’s contribution.

In this regard, the former director of the Dhaka Children’s Hospital, professor. Manzoor Hossain said the hospital is now run by a government-constituted committee. But Professor Tofail Ahmed and lawyer Rafiq-ul Haq were instrumental in establishing the hospital. Barrister Rafiq-ul Haq was once the hospital’s secretary and administrator. But now there are no signs of his contribution at the hospital. There are two reasons for this. One that he himself did not want to be called. He was not in favor of promoting his name through a donation. Another problem is that those charged with managing the hospital did not adequately evaluate Rafiq-ul-Haq. He also regretted it.
