A housewife has been raped at Ashtagram in Kishoreganj. Police arrested two defendants in the incident. The detainees are Harish Mia (32) and Zakir Hossain (30).
The housewife was raped on October 4. They were arrested on Saturday (October 24) afternoon in the Adampur Union area of upazila.
Those arrested are Harish Mia, son of the late Shahabuddin from Baragirkandi village in Adampur, union of Ashtagram upazila, and Zakir Hossain, son of Abdul Mia from the same village.
Ashtagram Police Inspector (Investigation) said. Arifur Rahman said that when the housewife (22) left the house around 11 p.m. on October 4, Harish Mia and Zakir Hossain, who were already on the prowl, grabbed her and took her to the veranda of a government primary school next to his house. Then the two raped her.
On Saturday (October 24), the husband of the raped housewife filed a case with the Ashtagram Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. The defendants were arrested the same day after the case.
