Rafiq-ul Haq became involved in politics in his student life by family tradition. He won the student parliament elections twice in a row in college. She became a social secretary. Islamia Eye Hospital in Farmgate, Dhaka is an institution founded by Barrister Rafiq-ul Haq’s grandfather. Barrister Rafiq-ul has played a pioneering role in the construction of the Dhaka Children’s Hospital. Bangabandhu allocated the land for this hospital. He raised a large part of the cost of setting up the hospital by selling lottery tickets. In addition, he received a 5 million rupee grant for the hospital in the 1980s, as he did not charge fees to former President Ziaur Rahman. He has established a 100-bed Subarna-Ibrahim General Hospital in Chandra in Gazipur with his own money.
Although he was a lawyer by profession, lawyer Rafiq-ul had a deep connection to the medical profession for family reasons. Besides his father, his wife Farida Haque was also a doctor.
