A boy named Maisa (6) has mysteriously died in Pir’s bedroom in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj. The boy’s body was found hanging from a window inside a house in the bedroom of a Pir named Lutfar Rahman in the Deotan area of Taljanga Union in upazila on Friday (October 23) afternoon.

Maisa is the daughter of Manik Miah, that Pir’s servant. Manik Miah’s house is in the Maugaon village of Rauti Union of Tarail upazila.

According to the police, his disciple Lutfar Rahman has been in charge of building a dormitory in front of the Dargah of the late Pir Bari Shah of Rauti for a long time. His bedroom is inhabited by disciples from different areas. Manik Mia, the servant of the dargah, lived with his wife and two children in the dargah of that pir.

Dargah authorities and the boy’s parents claimed that two children, including Maisa, were playing in an empty room inside the dargah. Maisa’s wife went to dress, tied a scarf to the window, and wrapped one side around her neck. At that point, he slipped and fell off the post and got stuck in his throat.

Upon receiving the news, the boy’s parents took him to the Tarail Upazila Health Complex and the doctor declared him dead. The police recovered the boy’s body and sent him to the Kishoreganj 250-bed hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Pir Lutfar Rahman’s statement on the matter was not known. An unnatural death case has been filed at the Tarail Police Station.

Tarail Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mojibur Rahman said he was initially pronounced dead after leaking while playing. However, the police are trying to find out the true cause of the boy’s death. The exact cause of the child’s death will be known after the autopsy.
