US President Donald Trump has said that Sudan will normalize relations with Israel. At the same time, Sudan has been removed from America’s list of terrorist states. In announcing an agreement to normalize relations between the two countries, Trump said on Friday that at least five other Arab countries wanted a peace agreement with Israel.
Sudan is the third member of the Arab League to establish normal relations with Israel. Previously, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain followed the same path.
This has been reported in a BBC report. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the agreement would usher in a “new era” and was a “dramatic step forward” in the peace process. He added that representatives of the governments of Israel and Sudan would soon discuss mutual cooperation in trade and agriculture.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdak thanked US President Trump. He thanked Sudan for removing him from the terrorist list.
