A seven-year-old boy has been charged with raping a cookie at the Charjabbar Union of Subarnachar Upazila in Noakhali. Abdul Haque Kazi (56) from Char Hasan village has fled since the incident. The boy has been admitted to the Noakhali General Hospital in critical condition. Police were unable to arrest the rapist until Friday night. However, the police said the operation to arrest him continues. The accused Abdul Haq Kazi is Abdul Haq Kazi, the son of Daymuddin Qazi from Charhachan village.
According to the child’s family and sources of complaint, the student was playing with the children from the house next door on Wednesday afternoon. At that time, his neighbor Abdul Haq Kazi took the boy home saying that he would give him cookies. Abdul Haq closed the door of the house, grabbed the boy by the face and raped him. He threatened to kill anyone who told him about the incident. The bloody baby went home crying and told his mother. Later, on behalf of the boy’s family, Fazilatun Nesa, a female member of the local reserved seat, informed them that the matter would be resolved locally. When the boy’s father reported the incident to the president of Charjabbar Union Parishad, Tariqul Islam Master, on Thursday night, he sent the boy and his family to the Charjabbar police station on Thursday night. That night, the girl’s father became the plaintiff and filed a lawsuit against Abdul Haque Kazi.
When UP member Fazilatun Nesar called her mobile phone to find out this, her husband got the call. He said his wife (female member) is not at home now and will speak later.
Charjabbar Union Parishad president Tariqul Islam said that even after reporting the matter to the UP member, he did not allow the boy’s family to present a case saying the incident would be resolved through an arbitration meeting. Later that night, he immediately sent them to the Charjabbar police station and asked the OC to present a case.
Charjabbar OC police said. Shahed Uddin said: “After receiving the news, we rescued the boy and admitted him to Noakhali General Hospital.” The rapist has been on the run since the incident. However, an operation is underway to arrest him quickly.
