A leader of the Jagannath University branch of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council has been accused of insulting Islam. Students are reacting angrily after their various posts and comments on Facebook went viral via social media. As a result, he was expelled from the organization.

The defendant Tithi Sarkar is the office secretary of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, a branch of Jagannath University. He is also the coordinator of the Jagannath University branch of the World Hindu Wrestling Council.

The Tithi government is known to have been commenting on Islam through various posts and comments on social media Facebook for a long time. The screenshots of those posts and comments went viral among various groups and students at the university, sparking a storm of criticism on social media. Many condemned the organization for being involved in the Tithi government’s student rights council. Again he demanded on social networks the permanent expulsion from the university.

Tithi was temporarily expelled from the organization for spreading all these government activities through social media and was asked to show cause within seven days instead of asking why he would not be permanently expelled.

Abu Bakar Khan, general secretary of the Jagannath University branch of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, said: “We have been noticing the problem for some time. Later, we tried to persuade him several times but failed and decided to expel him.”

The director of Mostafa Kamal University said: “I have received several screenshots of that student.” I am reviewing them. We will formally take action when the university opens on Tuesday.

When asked about this, the leader of the General Council for Student Rights of Dhaka and former Vice President of Dhaka, Nurul Haque Nur, told Naya Digant that he is not one of our party. He has been released from the organization a long time ago.
