Earlier in the evening on Thursday (October 22), the incident took place at the Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju Auditorium in upazila. The accused BCL president, Asadul Haque Chowdhury, is the son of Aminul Haque Chowdhury, a former principal of Paratali Kalimuddin High School in Shakil upazila and leader of the upazila Awami league.

Raipura police and the victim’s family said the student had been in a romantic relationship with BCL leader Shakil for six months. Shakil called the girl on Thursday night and took her to the Raju Auditorium in Srirampur, Raipura. But after a while, the girl was sent home because she was not married. Later, the girl was called back to the auditorium from her home to get married around 10 at night. Later, the leader of the Chhatra League, Shakil, raped the girl with the help of a partner.

When locals learned of the incident and surrounded the auditorium, Shakil left the girl and fled. Police sent the victim to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for a medical examination on Friday afternoon.

Mohsinul Qadir, Officer in Charge of the Narsingdi Raipura Police Station, said a case has been filed in this regard. No arrests have been made yet. However, an operation is underway to stop it.
