A terrible fire broke out in an elite shopping mall in Mumbai, India. The fire broke out at the City Center Mall in the Nagpara area of downtown Mumbai around 9 p.m. on Thursday (October 22). The fire was not brought under control until Friday morning.
The Times of India reported that a fire broke out on the ground floor of the City Center Mall around 9 p.m. Thursday. Subsequently, the fire spread to the second and third floors of the building. Upon receiving the news, the firefighters came to the scene around 2.30 p.m.
250 firefighters are working to put out the fire. In addition, at least 24 fire trucks are being used to put out the fire. Two firefighters were injured. They have been admitted to the hospital.
Three thousand five hundred people have been evacuated from the Orchid Tower next to the City Center shopping center for security reasons. Fire service personnel closed the surrounding roads. The smoke has caused panic among the locals.
