According to the locals, boyfriend Ahad Ali Mandal, alias Adi, had four sons and three daughters, but suffered from loneliness in his old age when his wife died. On the other hand, the girlfriend Amela Begum had two daughters and grandchildren but she also felt lonely as she did not have a husband. Considering their loneliness, both members of the family decided to get married. Later, the locals also joined in organizing the wedding.
The marriage was solemnized with the presence of people from two families, dignitaries from the area, media personnel and people of all ages from the area. At this time the locals rejoiced and distributed sweets in the area. Longevity is prayed for the bride and groom.
The groom, Ahad Ali Mandal aka Adi, said that although they had sons and daughters and grandchildren, they decided to marry because of their loneliness. He has accepted the marriage with the consent of his son and daughter.
The girlfriend Amela Begum said the marriage took place with the consent of the children. She has accepted the marriage thinking of a lonely life.
Although representatives of the local population said that the groom is 95 years old and the bride 60 years old, the groom has assured that his current age is 105 years.
