He made the remarks at a press conference at Globe Pharmaceuticals headquarters in Dhaka’s Tejgaon on Thursday.
Banshidhar Mishra said that, as a doctor, he knew the details about the vaccine called ‘Bancovid’ made by Globe.
“For now, we are interested in receiving this vaccine. If they are successful, we will be able to buy on a G2G basis. If the government of Bangladesh agrees, Nepal is also interested in the clinical trial of this vaccine.”
Chairman of Globe Pharmaceuticals Limited. Harunur Rashid told a press conference that he had signed a memorandum of understanding with a Nepalese company to buy two million doses of Bancovid before it could be tested on humans.
“We have an agreement with Anmol Group in Nepal. Twenty million doses have also been ordered from various other countries. We will supply Bangladesh only after satisfying it.”
Globe Biotech Limited is the only Bangladeshi company in the race to develop a coronavirus vaccine whose vaccine has been included in the World Health Organization’s Covid-19 vaccine candidate list.
The World Health Organization is monitoring the vaccines that are being developed around the world. The World Health Organization has a list of 42 vaccines in the clinical trial stage and another list of 157 vaccines in the preclinical trial stage (preclinical trial). The list contains the names of three Globe Biotech tickers in Bangladesh.

At a press conference held at Globe Pharmaceuticals headquarters in Tejgaon on July 3, Globe Biotech announced its efforts to develop a coronavirus vaccine.
Later, in another press conference on October 5, it was claimed that their possible vaccine had been “effective and completely safe” applied to rats. They will now apply to the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMAC) for a clinical trial.
