A pedestrian was crossing the Manikganj-Hemayetpur regional highway. When the driver lost control while trying to save him, the bus fell into a ditch on the side of the road. Three people died, including the pedestrian. The accident took place on the road at noon Thursday in the Rishipara area of ​​Singair in Manikganj. 10 passengers were injured in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old bus driver Hridoy Hossain, 65-year-old passenger Anwara Begum and 28-year-old pedestrian Nikhil Sarkar. Among them was Anwar’s address. She is the wife of Abdul Hamid from Betila village in Manikganj Sadar. The police recovered the bodies of the three victims and sent them to the Singair Upazila Health Complex.

According to police and local sources, a Shukatara Paribahan bus carrying passengers from Harirampur Upazila Sadar in Manikganj was heading towards Gabtali in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon. Along the way, the bus lost control and fell into a ditch on the Hemayetpur-Manikganj highway in the Rishipara area around 1.30pm. All three died on the spot. The 10 injured have been admitted to various clinics in Savar, including the local Upazila Health Complex.

Citing eyewitnesses, Singair Police Inspector (investigation) Abul Kalam said pedestrians were crossing the Nikhil Sarkar road in the rain. At that moment, the bus driver lost control and went to save him, but the bus fell into a ditch on the side of the road. At the end of the judicial process, the bodies of the four dead will be handed over to their families.
