Naval police have recovered the body of an unidentified girl from a motorboat named MV Ab-e-Jamjam in Chandpur. The body was found in the personnel cabin on the second floor of the launch at the Chandpur launch pier at 12 noon on Thursday.
The dead woman’s age is estimated to be 20 to 25 years. The launch staff said. Sujan Mollah said the launch left Dhaka for Chandpur at 11:30 pm on Wednesday. He rented the room to a young man for 800 rupees. The girl was with him. When he went to clean the cabin at 8.30am on Thursday, he found it closed. Later he went to the ticket counter and got the news. You know, there was no key. After breaking the lock and opening the cabin, they found the young woman’s body.
Upon hearing the news, Additional Police Superintendent (Sadar Circle) Snigdha Sarkar, the Model Police and the Naval Police rushed to the scene. Police said the launch was scheduled to depart for Dhaka around 1pm. But due to this incident, the launch could not go to Dhaka.
The additional superintendent of police (Sadar Circle), Snigdha Sarkar, said that the girl was hung with the tape of her pajamas. However, whether it is the violation or not, it will be known after the health exam. Initially, the murder is believed to have been committed by a single person. The naval police have prepared a plaintiff case in this incident.
