Teacher Samuel Patty killed in knife attack at school in France

French President Emmanuel Macron posthumously awarded him the Legion of Honor.

Last Friday, 46-year-old school teacher Samuel Patty was strangled to death in broad daylight.

Before the murder, the history and geography teacher showed a cartoon of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in class and complained to the school authorities.

On Wednesday a ceremony was held at the Sorbonne University in Paris to pay tribute to the murdered teacher Samuel Patty. About four hundred people gathered there.

From the beginning, French President Emmanuel Macron called the killings “Islamic terrorist attacks.”

Joining the ceremony, President Macron said: “We will not abandon cartoons. And Patty gave her life to protect European democratic and secular values. It is the face of this republic.

In France a cartoon of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was published. They call it freedom of expression.

But in the case of freedom of speech, it is questionable whether the issue of hurting the feelings of others is taken into account.
