Noakhali: The police have unraveled the murder mystery of a woman named Nurjahan Begum (57) in five parts in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali. The victim’s son, Humayun, along with his seven accomplices killed the mother and left the body in a rice field, police said.
Humayun Kabir, son of the late Nurjahan, brought a case for this shocking incident. On the basis of that case, the Noakhali district police investigation revealed that the boy was directly involved in the murder.
Chittagong Range DIG Anwar Hossain confirmed the information in a press conference on Thursday.
“We have arrested five of the seven defendants in the case,” he said. Two of them have testified in court. Humayun Kabir, son of the main defendant Nurjahan and the plaintiff in the case, will be brought to court today to confess.
He further said that Humayun’s brother, Belal, left a debt of four lakh rupees at the time of his death. When Humayun was pressured to repay the loan, he told his mother. But when his mother refused to pay the loan, he couldn’t take the pressure and killed her.
It is worth mentioning that on October 8, the police recovered five pieces of the body of a woman named Nurjahan Begum (42) from a rice field in Subarnachar. The deceased was identified as Nurjahan Begum, wife of the late Abdul Barek from Charjabbar Union District 1 in Upazila. She is the mother of 9 children, including eight sons and a daughter.
Earlier, her son Humayun Kabir said that his mother had been missing since dawn. Later in the afternoon, a local woman came to the rice field in search of snails and found a corpse. Later he went to the scene and identified his mother’s body.
