Natore: To end the loneliness of life, a 100-year-old man from the village of Pukur Dangapara in Natore Sadar Upazila has married a 70-year-old woman. A dowry of Rs 50,650 was imposed on the marriage.

The couple’s marriage is later consummated with a cash payment of Tk 750. About a hundred people from the town were present at the centennial wedding.

The couple tied the knot on Wednesday (October 21). The groom’s name is Ahad Ali Mandal aka Adi (105) and the bride’s name is Amela Begum (60). They live in the same town and both have children at home. But they lived a lonely life. They have made this decision to overcome this. Finally, their marriage was consummated in a very pompous atmosphere.

The president of Dighapatiya Union Parishad (UP), Khandaker Omar Sharif Chauhan, confirmed the information.

He told banglanews that Patra Ahad has four sons and three daughters. Although he had grandchildren, Ahad lived a very lonely life in his old age as he had no wife. Later he decided to marry to end this loneliness.

On the other hand, after the death of her husband Amela Begum from the same village, she lived a lonely life despite having children and grandchildren. However, the number of their children is unknown. In this situation he decided to marry. Finally, with the consent of both families, the marriage of the two elderly women took place on Wednesday night. Which has made the locals very curious. As a result, many people gather at the wedding to see it.

The president further said that a dowry of Rs 50,650 was imposed on the couple. However, the centennial paid 850 rupees in cash for the Maharana present at the wedding. The marriage was arranged based on the opinion of the people of the Uber family. The marriage is consummated with the presence of both sons and daughters. At least a hundred villagers were present at the wedding and the wedding was completed with much fanfare. At this time the locals enjoy the wedding ceremony with extreme joy. Afterwards, they prayed for the longevity of the newlyweds and distributed sweets.

Meanwhile, Ahad aka Adi, 100, and Amela Begum, 60, have asked for blessings so they can have a good time until the last moment of their married life.
