Police raided the home of Juba League leader Mojibul Rahman Sharif, who was arrested in connection with the rape of a distant aunt at Noakhala Union of Noakhali’s Chatkhil Upazila, and recovered weapons and ammunition.
Chatkhil Police Officer-in-Charge (CO) Anwarul Islam told the media on Wednesday evening (October 21) that according to information provided by Sharif after his arrest, one weapon, two rounds of ammunition and an empty beer can from his residence near Yasin Bazar in District No. Noakhala Union 1 at around 8pm on Wednesday. Five mobile phones, a condom packet and a laptop were recovered.
He said preparations were under way to bring another case under the Arms Act against the arrested Sharif. The arrested person is the son of Rafiqul Islam Khokon from the Noakhala Union No. 1 district of Sharif Upazila and president of the Noakhala Union Juba League.
By the way, the housewife was sleeping in her own room around 5am on Wednesday (October 21). Sharif tricked the housewife into entering the tinsel room, forcibly raping her and leaving her naked, taking photos and videos.
The defendant Sharif is the son of the housewife’s distant cousin. Later, the victim’s housewife brought a case against Sharif at the Chatkhil Police Station. Subsequently, the police arrested Sharif around 3 p.m. at Yasin Bazar in Noakhala Union of the upazila.
