He said that Rahanur was insulted by his brother-in-law’s eating habits due to lack of income. In pretrial detention, he said, he entered the house at night and killed the brothers and sisters by giving them sleeping pills in soda.

Quoting Rahanur, additional DIG Omar Farooq said that Rahanur had not done any work for several days. He had no income for the last few days. At the same time, his wife left 9-10 months ago. Because of this, he was mentally stressed. He used to eat and drink with his older brother’s family. However, Sabina Khatun often scolded him for his food and drink due to lack of income. I did not eat properly. This caused him great anger. At one point he decided to kill Sabina Khatun.

Additional DIG said at the press conference that Rahanur was planning to kill his brother-in-law by taking sleeping pills. Then, on the night of October 14, Rahanur bought Disopen sleeping pills from a nearby pharmacy and a bottle of soda called Speed ​​from a local grocery store. Contains sleeping pills. Then he let his sister-in-law and nephew-niece drink the drink. At night, Rahanur was sitting at his older brother’s house watching an IPL game on television. He knew that his older brother would come and scold him. At just one-thirty at night, the older brother came home from the compound and saw Rahanur sitting in his room watching television. At that time, Shahinur’s older brother scolded Rahanur for watching TV and said, “You see the electricity bill, why are you watching TV?” At that moment he said to Rahanur’s brother: ‘I will pay the electricity bill for this month, you eat this speed.’

The policeman said that although he was angry, the older brother drank the soda that his younger brother gave him. Then Rahanur came out. Then sometime in the night, he climbed onto the ledge of the house and climbed onto the roof of his older brother’s house and entered the house through the attic door. He then strangled his own brother while he slept. Later, Bhabi, who was in the next room, was killed in the same way. He was not mad at the children. But, during the murder, Bhabi woke up and screamed. His nephew and niece also woke up to his screams. Rahanur then killed two nieces and nephews along with Bhabi in a plan to have no witnesses. Later he threw the knife used in the murder into a large pond next to the house.

Additional DIG Omar Farooq further said that according to information provided by Rahanur, the helicopter and towel used in the killing were recovered from the pond on Wednesday.

Incidentally, four members of the same family were strangled to death in the early hours of Thursday (15 October) in the Khalsi village of Helatla union in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira. The deceased were identified as Shahinur Rahman, son of Shahjahan Ali from Khalsi village, his wife Sabina Khatun, their son Siam Hossain Mahi and their daughter Tasnim. Later, four people were buried at his grandfather’s house in Brajboksa village in Kalaroa. Shahinur’s mother-in-law, Moyna Khatun, filed a murder case (No. 14) against the unidentified persons at the Kalaroa Police Station. The CID police were given the responsibility of investigating the case. Later, CID police arrested Shahinur’s younger brother, Rahanur Rahman. If Rahanur Rahman wants 10 days of pre-trial detention, he has been granted 5 days of pre-trial detention. Three more people, including an employee of Shahinur’s home and two neighbors, were arrested in the case on Tuesday.
