CID officials claimed that the mystery of four murders in the same family in Kalaroa, Satkhira, has been revealed.
CID Khulna DIG additional Omar Farooq said this at a press conference at CID’s district office in Satkhira at 4.30pm on Wednesday.
The DIG said that Raihanul killed Bhabhi Sabina Khatun and her two sons Mahi and Tasnim Sultana with a sharp knife. Earlier, you bought sleeping pills and energy drinks from the market. At around 8 p.m. on October 14, he delivered the drugs mixed with the medicine to his two nieces and nephews. Later, around 1.30pm, when his brother Shahinur returned home from the fish farm, they also gave him energy drinks mixed with sleeping pills.
Citing Raihanul’s confession, he said that he himself climbed up the ledge on the roof of the house and entered through the open door. At first, he killed his brother Shahinur while he slept, cut his wrists and tied a rope around his legs. He then killed Bhabhi Sabina by cutting her throat in the next room.
When the children woke up to his screams, he slaughtered them in the same way. He told the CID that the devil was upon him. So despite the reluctance to kill the two children.
After killing him on an empty body, he threw the bloodstained towel and the chapati around the fish. The DIG said it was later recovered from the fence according to its instructions.
Why did he commit this murder? In response, the CID officer told Raihanul that Raihanul is currently unemployed; His wife left him 9-10 months ago. From then on, he used to eat and drink in his brother’s family. He does not do any work himself, nor does he pay for it; For these reasons, he often had fights with his brothers and sisters. They abused him.
Referring to Raihanul’s statement, he further said that he had an argument with Bhabi on the night of the incident. Bhabi scolded him. Later he drank energy drinks mixed with sleeping pills for Bhabi and her two children. They fell asleep.
Raihanul further said that he was watching television at home at around 1:30 p.m. At that time, his brother came from Shahinur’s house and reprimanded him and said: I watch so much television, who will pay the electricity bill?
Shahinur also told him a bit about this. Raihanul told him, calm down, this time I will pay the electricity bill. Saying this, he also gave her energy drinks mixed with sleeping pills. Later, Shahinur also fell asleep. At this moment he killed them one by one.
The CID official said at the press conference, which lasted more than 10 minutes, that no one else was with Raihanul at the time of the murder. He told the CID that he decided to kill just because of his brother-in-law’s fight. The CID said it had recovered sharp knives and towels from the pond.
Raihanul, who is on remand, was sent to court to testify under section 164, he said.
