Meteorologist Muhammad Arif Hossain said the light pressure in the center of the Bay of Bengal was located in the Central West of the Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Central East of the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday morning.

The cyclone in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal was named by the World Meteorological Organization’s regional cyclone agency, Escap. From the list of names given by 13 countries in the region, the names of the new cyclones are gradually fixed.
The practice of naming cyclones in this region began a decade and a half ago to easily show the nature and intensity of cyclones to people. When a depression turns into a cyclone, the names are assigned according to the order of the list.
