Ten more non-governmental organizations have been nominated to test coronavirus (Covid-19) samples for passengers wishing to travel abroad. This information was released in a press release from the ministry on Tuesday.

According to the notification, the services department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare gave the go-ahead to these organizations on October 16. Corona samples can be analyzed in the RT-PCR laboratories of these designated institutions.

The nominated institutes are Mohakhali International Diarrhea Center-Bangladesh (ICDDR, B), DMFR Molecular Lab and Diagnostics in Sobhanbagh, Dhaka, Lab Aid Limited in Dhanmondi, Skir in Universal Medical College Hospital, Mohakhali, Mohakhali. Hospital, Prava Diagnostic in Banani and United Hospital in Gulshan.

Apart from this, the IEDCR, the BIR and the government employees’ hospitals have been created to issue tax-free certificates to government officials and employees who wish to travel abroad. The certificates will now be displayed at all airports, land and sea ports in the country, allowing passengers to travel outside the country, according to the press release.

Corona samples can be tried for those who wish to go abroad from a total of 26 institutions, including government and private institutions, including 10 newly nominated institutions. Previously, the government had made the Covid Negative Certificate mandatory for all passengers who wish to travel abroad as of July 23. To this end, 18 hospitals and government institutions were established throughout the country.

The 16 institutions are Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in Barisal, Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar Medical College, Comilla Medical College, National Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Reference Center in Dhaka, Institute of Advertising in Dhaka. Preventive and Social Medicine, Narayanganj 300 Bed Hospital, Khulna Medical College, Kushtia Medical College, Mymensingh Medical College, Bogra’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Rajshahi Medical College, Dinajpur M. Abdur Rahim Medical College, Rangpur Medical College, and Sylhet MGO University.
