Sajjad Gazi, a student at Titumir College, an anti-rape movement in Dhaka’s Shahbagh, raped a university student in his own home in Agailjhara, Barisal on Monday night. The victim’s mother filed a rape case against her at the Agailjhara Police Station on Monday night. When rapist Sajjad Ghazi was arrested and brought to court in Barisal on Tuesday, it emerged that he was sent to jail by order of the court. Sajjad Gazi is the son of Khorshed Gazi from Amboula village at the Bagdha junction of Agailjhara upazila.
According to the case and local sources, a university student from the same area had an affair with Sajjad Ghazi, son of Khorshed Ghazi from Amboula village in Bagdha, union of the Upazila, six months ago. Sajjad Gazi took the university student to different places and raped her more than once. Last Monday night, Sajjad Ghazi went to the student’s home and raped her. When the student screamed, her mother came from outside and rescued her. The locals arrived, arrested the rapist Sajjad Gazi and handed him over to the police. The university student’s mother filed a rape case at the Agailjhara police station on Monday night.
Agailjhara OC police said. Golam Sarwar told reporters that a boy named Sajjad Gazi raped a university student from the same area. On Monday night, the student’s mother filed a case against the rapist. The rapist was arrested and sent to the Barisal court on Tuesday morning, but was sent to jail by court order. The rapist was sent to Barisal Shebachim Hospital for a medical examination.
