Zimbabwe in Pakistan without Rajput trainer at the request of the Indian embassy

[ad_1]

The Zimbabwean cricket team has come to Pakistan to play three ODIs and an equal number of T20s. However, Zimbabwe’s Indian coach, Lalchand Rajput, did not arrive in Pakistan with the team. The Indian embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe, has called on Zimbabwe Cricket to ban Rajputs from traveling to Pakistan, citing travel restrictions for the country’s citizens. So Zimbabwe is on tour in Pakistan to play ODI and T20 without a head coach. Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed this in a statement.

In the absence of Rajput, the team’s bowling coach, Douglas Hondo, will be the team’s head coach for the tour. Rajput, who played for India from 1985 to 2008, took over as Zimbabwe’s head coach in 2016.

Zimbabwe will play three ODI series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. The third game will be held on October 30 and November 1 and 3. Then the Zimbabwe team will go to Lahore. They will play three T20s there on November 6, 7 and 10. This will be the first international series in Pakistan and Zimbabwe after the Kovid-19 epidemic.
