The Zimbabwe cricket team arrived in Pakistan this morning (Tuesday) to play three separate series of ODI and T20. But head coach Lalchand Rajput did not go with the national team. Without him, Zimbabwe will play two limited series on Pakistani soil.
According to the cricket website Cricinfo, former Indian batsman Lalchand Rajput had all the necessary permits to visit Pakistan. But the Zimbabwe Cricket Board has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board that the Rajput will not join the team.
The first game of the ODI series will be played on October 30 in Lahore. The two remaining games in the series will be played on November 1 and 3 on the same field. The series is part of the ICC World Cup Super League. Subsequently, three matches of the T20 series will be played on November 7, 8 and 10 in Rawalpindi.
It was initially reported that the next home series of the Pakistan cricket team against Zimbabwe will be played in Lahore and Multan. According to him, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was preparing.
But it emerged about three weeks before the scheduled time that Multan is not ready to host international cricket now. That is why the T20 series against Zimbabwe has moved to Pindi and the ODI will be in Lahore.
The Zimbabwean team, which arrived in Pakistan today (October 20), will spend a week in quarantine. Later, they will be able to start group practice from October 28.
