Ariful Islam Shakib was arrested while trying to frame his opponent in a rape case
In Feni’s Sonagazi, a boyfriend has been arrested for having a physical relationship with his girlfriend and going to file a gang rape case against the opponent. The court granted the accused a two-day pre-trial detention if he requested a seven-day pre-trial detention.
A young man named Ariful Islam Shakib fell in love with a ninth grade schoolgirl in Sonagazi, Feni and had a physical relationship with her. He is the former vice president of the Sadar Union Chhatra League of the upazila.
According to the police and the victim’s family sources, Shakib and the schoolgirl are from the same area and from their home, so a love story developed from Chenajana. On August 28, the student’s mother raped Shakib against her will in an empty room because she was not at home. Later, showing the temptation of marriage, he made it a condition to present a gang rape case by mentioning the names of some personal opponents in the area according to his previous plan.
After filing a case at the police station, the police questioned them after overhearing their incoherent conversations.
The victim then filed a case against Shakib. Police raided the house Sunday night and arrested him. The victim’s statement on Section 22 and the medical examination were completed Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the defendant Shakib was taken to the Feni Judicial Court of First Instance, where the police granted him a two-day pre-trial detention after he requested a seven-day pre-trial detention.
Sajedul Islam Palash, officer in charge of the Sonagazi Model Police Station, said: “Shakib was arrested after filing a case against him. The Section 22 victim’s statement and medical examination were completed Monday. The court referred the defendant Shakib for two days.
