Rajiv Paribahan’s assistant and his accomplice have been accused of raping a dance teacher in Muktagachha of Mymensingh. The bus attendant Arif was handed over to the police by the locals.
The victim is a resident of the Amodpur area of Kabari village in Nandail upazila district. He is an instructor at a dance music school in Sreepur, Gazipur. The arrested man is a resident of the Ramakana village of Arif upazila. His colleague Azizul lives in the same town.
The teacher filed a case against Arif and Azizul at the Muktagachha Police Station on Monday (October 19) afternoon.
The CO of Muktagachha Police Station said the teacher came to Mymensingh by train on Sunday afternoon to see her sick father and there she accidentally boarded a Rajib Paribahan bus in Jamalpur from the Digharkanda Ring Road. After informing Arif Hossain, the assistant of the vehicle, he got out of the vehicle in the Ramakana village of Muktagachha to shelter the teacher. On the way home from there, Arif raped the teacher in a garden in Ramakana around 8:30 pm.
Later that night, Arif handed the teacher over to his colleague Azizul. Azizul then raped her next to her house.
After the rape, the teacher was told to leave town without informing anyone. Later, when the teacher told the locals about the incident, the locals arrested the bus attendant Arif and handed him over to the Muktagachha police station.
In admitting the truth of the incident, Muktagachha police officer OC Biplob Kumar Biswas said that Rajib Paribahan’s aide, Arif, and one of his associates raped the teacher. Arif has been arrested. An operation is underway to arrest Azizul.
