Iran has shot down an Armenian drone. The Armenian drone crashed in the airspace of the country’s Ardabil province. This was reported on Monday in one of the Azerbaijani media.

The report says the drone is believed to be from Armenia. Citing sources familiar with the situation, the type of drone has been clarified. It has been identified as an inspection drone.

It should be noted that since September 26, Armenia and Azerbaijan have started a new war over the disputed Nagarno-Karabakh. Subsequently, on October 10, in negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by Russia, both sides agreed to a temporary ceasefire on humanitarian grounds. Although the ceasefire was supposed to go into effect on October 11, within minutes after the ceasefire, Armenia and Azerbaijan attacked each other, accusing each other of violating the ceasefire.

The Karabakh region is internationally recognized as a territory of Azerbaijan. However, the region has been controlled by ethnic Armenians since the 1990s.
