Under the new hiring policy, for the first time, female candidates will not be able to apply without a graduation pass. Eligibility to apply for male candidates is the same as before.
According to the Department of Primary Education, there are currently 85,720 government primary schools in the country. The last time 18,147 assistant teachers were appointed was in 2016. A list of vacant positions was taken from each upazila after receiving instructions from the ministry to start the new hiring process. The recruitment notice is published accordingly.
It is known that in the 2016 Teaching Assistant Recruitment Exam, about 55,000 candidates took the oral exam. 18,147 of them were recruited. The 36,000 candidates who did not pass the final continue to protest in front of the National Press Club in the capital, demanding their appointment through a panel. However, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has made it clear that there is no opportunity to form a panel. Even in the 2016 hiring notice, the panel was not mentioned anywhere.
Recently, the Prime Minister has approved preschool education to be two years instead of one year. In other words, another class is growing up in elementary school. Its piloting will begin from next year. Starting in 2023, two-year preschool education will be introduced in all schools. Then an additional assistant teacher and babysitter will be appointed at 65,720 elementary schools.
In addition, a proposal was sent to the Ministry of Public Function to create assistant principal positions in all public elementary schools. Assistant teachers will be promoted to this position. In this, the positions of 65,720 assistant teachers will be vacant in each school. As a result, more recruitment notices will also come to Prathmi in the future.
