On the occasion of Durga Puja, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent her greetings to West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.

The prime minister’s gift items were shipped to India through the Benapole checkpoint on Sunday afternoon.

In the evening, Tawfiq Hasan, Deputy High Commissioner of the Bangladesh High Commissioner in Calcutta, delivered the gift to the West Bengal Chief Minister’s Office in Nabanna.

BM Jamal Hossain (Politician), Deputy Commissioner of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, told local reporters that the gifts sent by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Kolkata at night. Later, the gift items were delivered to the office of the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

The gifts are known to have been taken from the Benapole checkpoint around 12 noon and reached the Petrapole checkpoint on the other side. The gifts from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were sent to Benapole via the protocol director of the prime minister’s office, Ataur Rahman. Alam Hossain, Deputy Secretary to the First Secretary of the Bangladesh Sub-High Commission in Calcutta, was already in Petrapole to receive him.
