Three suns in the same sky! No, reading a science fiction story is not an event from another planet. The residents of Mohe, China actually witnessed such a scene. Rubbing their eyes from sleep, they see three suns shining in the sky! This situation lasted about three hours. Suryatrayi was seen in the sky from 6.30 am to 9.30 am local time.
The video of that cosmic wonder of the city of Mohe in the Tukiang region of the country is on the global viral network. In fact, there is an illusion behind it. The sun in the middle of those three suns is the real one. The other two suns are called “Phantom Suns”. Due to those two bright points of light, it seems that there is not one, but three suns in the sky. Such illusions are created when the sun’s rays enter through ice crystals located high in the Cyrus clouds. It’s called ‘Sandogs’.
According to the US space agency NASA, ‘Sandogus’ is the most recognizable type of spectrum created by sunlight entering the ice. If there are cirrus clouds in the sky, they can be seen in any country in the world at any time of the year.
This scene has been seen in many countries in the world before. But I haven’t seen this wonderful ‘San Dogs’ in so long. Five suns were seen in China last February. It was later seen in Inner Mongolia in northern China. In 2015, three suns were seen in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
