The baby’s father, Yasin Mollah, told bdnews24.com on Saturday: “She is fine. Still in the neonatal ward.”

Maryam is the second daughter of Yasin and Shahinur Begum from Malenga village in Gopalganj Sadar upazila. His first son is Israt Jahan.

The baby was born without surgery at Dhaka Medical College on Friday morning. After the birth, the doctor pronounced the newborn dead and handed him over to his father Yasin. Yasin took the girl to the Basila cemetery to bury her. There the child moved.

Yasin rushed to take the boy to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The hospital director, Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin, told reporters on Saturday: “You know that we always have children here. There are also many critical babies being born and we are trying to control them.

“We are treating and protecting the lives of mothers and children who are very complex and life threatening. We have a strong team ”.

Describing the boy’s case as “exceptional,” he said: “Even then, we said that we would investigate whether the doctors in charge were negligent or had any professional deficiencies.”

“If something is determined to be irresponsible, it should be punished according to the rules and regulations that we have against it.”

In early 2015, after being pronounced dead at Dhaka Medical College, the incident of a newborn moving before burial sparked discussion. The boy was later returned to the hospital and could not be saved with treatment.

Nasir Uddin, the hospital director, said: “You see the incident that happened before, but the doctor no longer exists. He lost his job and is not in Bangladesh, he went abroad ”.

“We will analyze why this happened,” he said. What a failure he had. Was that failure due to lack of professionalism or any other reason?

“It just came to our attention then. Such problems are not acceptable. I sincerely apologize to the family and assure them that the hospital authorities will provide all possible assistance.”
