Azir Uddin’s uncle and Nazma Begum’s uncle who recorded the video of the rape
Kishori Jaya (pseudonym) went to Nabiganj Upazila from Habiganj to learn tailoring from his uncle. There she was raped by her aunt. And the video of the incident was recorded by the teenager’s own uncle!
The victim’s mother filed a case in the upazila on Friday. The police arrested Nazma Begum and Azir Uddin. When both were brought to court on Saturday, the judge sent them to jail.
According to the statement in the case, Jaya went to learn sewing with her uncle Nazma Begum in the Gudgumia village of Sridharpur at the union of the Upazila of Kargaon. Nazma’s husband, Azir Uddin, raped her last Wednesday night. In addition to collaborating in the rape of her niece, Nazma recorded the entire incident on her mobile phone. Jaira’s mother went to Azir Uddin’s house to take her daughter home. Nazma prevented him from entering there. He also stopped Jaya. Later, Jaya was rescued by her mother along with the villagers.
Jaira’s mother filed a case against Nazma and Azir Uddin on Friday night. Later, Nabiganj Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Kamal Ahmedta carried out a nightly raid with his force and arrested the accused couple.
Confirming the information, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Nabiganj Police Station, Azizur Rahman, said: “The defendants have been arrested in connection with the case. An investigation is ongoing.
