Feni: The attack took place in a long march from Shahbag to Eklashpur in Noakhali protesting rape, oppression of women and impunity across the country. 6 people were injured.
The attack took place in the area of the Comilla bus stop in the city of Feni around 11:30 am on Saturday (October 18) after the demonstration.
Previously, protesters participated in a long march at the city’s Shaheed Minar facility.
The protesters, who participated in the long march, said that some terrorists attacked the area of the Comilla bus stop with sticks while marching towards the Feni district administration office after holding a demonstration and campaigning against rape. At that time, 6 people were injured, including Hridoy, Shahadat, Anik and Jawad, who participated in the long march.
Pankaj Debnath Surya, general secretary of the Feni City Branch of the Bangladesh Students’ Federation and director of the demonstration in Feni, said the attack was disgusting. Terrorists want to repress our workers by attacking them.
Earlier, during a rally at Doel Chattar alongside the Shaheed Minar in the city, protesters had an argument with the police for writing negative statements in red on the image of the local parliament. Meanwhile, Feni Sadar Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police, Atowar Rahman, and Feni Model Police Station (OC) Inspector Alamgir Hossain, went to the scene and monitored the situation.
