However, he had already made the accusation. According to a police source, the Hong Kong lawyer had filed a defamation lawsuit against the guardian in 2019.
He was 14 years old at the time. A tutor taught him at his home in Darjeeling. At that time he was sexually harassed by that teacher.
Police say the accused professor was arrested in Siliguri in the first week of October.
Knowing the news, the woman said, there is still a long way to go. It’s just a small victory. The defendant’s request for bail has been rejected by the court. The police have filed a case against him. Thanks to the police for this.
Why did it take 23 years to file a libel lawsuit against the teacher? In response, he said: “I was scared and confused at the same time since the incident.” When I was a teenager, I didn’t know how to deal with that trauma.
According to her, it is not always possible for a girl to give details about sexual abuse. But, when I heard that the teacher is now in Siliguri, he is sexually harassing the girls there as in the past, and I couldn’t keep quiet. After overcoming all doubts, I approached the Darjeeling police.
The lawyer confessed that she was still reluctant to talk about her bitter past experience. He said that he had been a victim of persecution for more than a month. Even today, it haunts events like a nightmare. I don’t want any more children to go through that trauma. Then, after so many years, I was forced to file a complaint against the teacher.
Darjeeling (City) Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Pandey said police took action only after receiving a complaint against the teacher. A Siliguri school teacher was arrested in early October. They have already been able to gather evidence against the accused professor. So far, four students have opened their mouths against the teacher.
According to police, the accused chemistry teacher has worked in at least five schools in the last 20 years. Don’t stay in a school for long. The Darjeeling Police Superintendent said that if the arrested teacher appeared in court, he would be in pretrial detention until October 23. The police claimed that he had admitted his guilt during questioning.
