Thakurgaon: Police have recovered a two-page letter written by Arifa Begum after recovering the bodies of a mother and two children in Thakurgaon. In the letter, Arifa Begum has written the reason for her suicide.
On Friday (October 18) evening, the letter with the printed book was found on the girl’s reading table at home.
Ranishankail Police Officer in Charge (CO) Zahid Iqbal said a letter was found at Arif’s home with his daughter’s books.
In a two-page letter, Arifa Begum wrote: ‘Life in food. The lack of world no longer likes riots. I went alone, but when I was alone, my children cried for me. So I decided to go with them. Ranishankail Police Station OC SM Zahid Iqbal said police initially thought Arifar was in need and that there were unrest in the family. Because of this, he was suffering from depression and depression for a long time. So after feeding the girl and boy something poisonous, he may have committed suicide. Everything will be known after receiving the autopsy report.
After recovering the body, the police detained her husband Akbar Ali, her father-in-law Sirajul Islam, her mother-in-law Monowara Begum and her brother-in-law Babar Ali for preliminary questioning. They were later released into the custody of dignitaries and members of the local union council, the CO said.
Thakurgaon District Additional Police Superintendent Muhammad Kamal Hossain confirmed the letter and said it was being checked to determine if the recovered letter was from Arif. Still, the police are seriously investigating the matter.
The police recovered the bodies of Akbar Ali’s wife Arifa Begum (32), his daughter Akhlima Akhter Ankhi (10) and his son Arafat Hossain (4) from a pond in front of their home in Varnia Shialdangi village in the Union of Dharmagarh of Ranishankail upazila on Thursday (October 15) morning.
