Robi Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed announced the achievement at a virtual press conference on Thursday.

Robi says that success has been made possible by the recent increase in subscriber numbers after the coronavirus epidemic has improved somewhat.

The press conference was led by Shahed Alam, corporate director and regulator of the company.

Robi Managing Director and CEO Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said: “Robi-Airtel customers will have the opportunity to use a 50 million MB data bonus every day at this ‘happy time’.”

To obtain this data, customers must purchase certain popular data packages. In addition, Robi-Airtel customers can enjoy an extra 5 days of validity with all 1 country / second voice calls offers.

Robi and Airtel customers will receive a gift of 200MB of data if they install the Robi-Ten Minute School mobile app on their smartphone or log in for the first time.

These offerings will begin on Thursday and continue into the next month, said Robi’s CEO.

He also said that as part of the celebrations, Robi Khabar will organize in orphanages in about 50 districts across the country.

“We have now entered a new type of economy called the digital economy, where everything in our lives will be done digitally and Robi is committed to reshaping the lives of people by participating in this journey,” Mahtab said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, said: “The road necessary to enter the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will come from the telecommunications sector. I have found Robi as the most interested partner on this road. Go ahead, which is very encouraging to me.

“I believe Robi is now on a solid footing in our journey towards digital transformation.”

Zahurul Haque, President of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, BTRC, said: “Congratulations to Robi for achieving this milestone. I think this achievement has further improved people’s expectations of Robi.”

The company’s commercial director, Shihab Ahmed, highlighted the various milestones reached by Robi on his journey of winning 5 million customers.

He said that as the first operator in the country, the 3.5G service was launched, one day after the launch as the sole operator, the 4.5G service was launched simultaneously in 64 districts throughout the country.

Shihab Ahmed claimed that Robi has become the ‘most sought-after’ telecom brand in the country and said that the fact that 5 out of 6 customers join the Robi network through MNP is proof of this.

According to the BTRC, 168 million people in the country have registered mobile SIMs. Of these, Grameen Phone is at the top with 68 million subscribers.
