A 40-year-old widow suffered two and a half hours from hellfire in Narayanganj. The woman was raped once and gang-raped twice in Naikahan Akharpara of upazila from 6:30 pm to 10 pm on October 6. So far, police have arrested a man involved in the rape after the woman filed a complaint with the police on Wednesday night. He was arrested in the Naikahan Akharpara area of ​​upazila on Thursday morning.

The arrested rapist is Ali Akbar (50). He is the son of the late Bachir Uddin from the Naikahan Akharpara area.

According to the case, the widow from the Kaimpur area of ​​the upazila is a worker at the Bhai Bhai Spinning Mill in Binaicharstha of the same upazila. He went to the store at 6:30 pm on October 6 to get medicine. When he got to the front of the Anis market in Naikahan Bazar, Ali Akbar called the woman and took her to the fish market in the market. Then he closed the shop blinds and raped her. Mostafa (55), son of the late Abdul Malek from the same area, and Anarul (40) from the same area took Liton (32) to the shore of the Liton pond saying they would be engaged. At 8.30 pm on the same night, the three took turns raping her. Later, Liton called Shaheen (32) and Tariqul (34) and wanted to take the woman to an unknown place. Disagreeing with this, Shaheen and Tariqul forcibly raped the woman on the roof of Ali Hossain’s building under construction in the same area at 10:30 pm. The tortured widow hid the incident from public embarrassment and thinking of her children. But after arguing with the locals, he filed a complaint with the Araihazar police station on Wednesday night.

The officer in charge of the Araihazar police station, Nazrul Islam, said a case has been brought against six people for gang-raping a widow. Ali Akbar, the main defendant in the case, has been arrested. The operation continues to arrest the other accused.
